Both tough, quite a bit of off-road experience in their Volvo XC70, but they wanted more. Just that bit more off-road, steeper hills and deeper water crossings. Harry’s passion is fishing, after all. All the equipment with them and the search for an adventurous spot. Working for Tata Steel had come to an end, freedom beckoned.

During the first meeting in August 2017, it was clear to Harry and Lida which vehicle it would be: a brand new Toyota Hilux. And now, a few years later and numerous kilometres further, it turns out that they made the perfect choice. “What an incredibly strong vehicle, we are so glad that we didn’t choose a larger truck, this is exactly what we wanted.”

During their first visit to Twiga, they were already surprised by the pleasant manner of communication and professional and tidy workshop. Time was taken to answer questions seriously. The end result is great, no queries whatsoever. During construction there was a lot of contact, regular visits to Ooij as they wanted to keep a finger on the pulse. Despite their satisfaction now, during their first trip it turned out that one or two things had been overlooked. This resulted in a new Twiga position: final checker, an external expert, who spends a few hours checking the smallest of details. Up till now, experience with this has been excellent and Twiga stays ahead of problems.

As fishers, they love Norway and Denmark. Travelling for weeks through endless forests in search of that one beach that nobody knows. Their five-month trip to the far north is planned for sometime at the end of April 2020. The even farther north. They are prepared.
