Defender 130, double cabin for two people. Living unit length 3,750 mm and width 1,900 mm, including alcove with elevating roof. The living unit is made of aluminium and is attached to the existing chassis. This keeps the weight under 3,500 kg and the vehicle can be driven with a C driving licence.
We use our 30 mm honeycomb panels for the insulation walls, which are specially developed by Twiga and extremely lightweight. The elevating roof including awning fabric is fully raisable by means of 4 electric cylinders with a huge lifting capacity.
At the client’s request, a living unit was developed, equipped with, windows, Victron electrical installation incl. solar panels, 100-litre fresh water tank, filters, 2 kW heater with air heating, refrigerator, hob, toilet and a functional staircase on the side. Twiga now has a wide collection of staircases of its own design.
By thinking carefully about the various components, which are an aluminium cage construction, lightweight panels, lightweight windows and hatch, this living unit keep the weight below 3,500 kilograms and you can still carry enough luggage for a long trip.
